Brass is an economic strategy game set during the Industrial Revolution.
Brass: Lancashire came first and it tells the story of competing cotton entrepreneurs in the North West of England. You must develop, build and establish your industries and network so that you can capitalise on demand for iron, coal and cotton. The game is played over two halves: the canal phase and the rail phase.
Brass: Birmingham followed and it has been the top ranked game on BoardGameGeek ever since. It introduces breweries (beer), pottery, and manufactured goods to replace the cotton, ports, and shipyards of Lancashire.
Birmingham is generally considered more complex with more decision-making options, while Lancashire is more streamlined and brutal.
