For our Bonfire Night edition of We Read The Rules So You Don't Have To, we're heading back to 17th-century London with London, a strategy game designed by Martin Wallace.

The game takes us to the years following the Great Fire of London in 1666, when much of the city needed to be rebuilt. You'll develop your own part of the capital, constructing buildings, managing your finances and trying to create a prosperous city without letting poverty get out of control.

It's a clever, card-driven game where every decision matters. You'll need to think carefully about which buildings to develop, when to put them into action and whether taking out a loan is worth the risk.

As always, we'll read the rules so you don't have to! We'll explain how everything works, guide you through the game and play alongside you.
